BACKGROUND
Positive Fitness UK was originally founded by Sally Morris back in 1983 when it was known as Sally’s Step and Aerobics. Back in the 1980s in the days of the leg warmers, Sally started her own Aerobic and Step classes by hiring out village and school halls.
Sally began her journey at the BAI Dance Studio in Birmingham and then at the Birmingham Hippodrome where she attended Contemporary Ballet classes. Sally has trained over the years in a number of fitness disciplines, including Step, Kickboxing, Spin, Children’s Fitness , Pilates, Block fit (one of the first with X Factor Chico), Conditioning, Dancefit, Sosa Dance and many others.
The name was changed to Positive Fitness Uk in 2011
Over the years Sally has created not only a loyal client base, but a beautiful fitness studio, where there are varied weekly classes to suit every age, gender and ability.
Every client says they love the ambience of the studio and there is a warmth and friendliness shown to each person who walks through the doors.
As well as Sally, there is a team of experienced and expert instructors, who again show the same care that Sally has prided herself on over the last 38 years.
Classes include Dancefit, Yoga, Pilates, BodyCon, HIIT , Stretch , Young at Heart and Fab Abs. Something for everyone !
THEN CAME COVID MARCH 2020!
As a result of Covid, the leisure industry was badly affected. Sally ran the studio for two years, struggling as many clients were anxious to return . Class numbers dropped and instructors left. Limited timetable now, although full classes, Sally could no longer sustain the studio ON HER OWN. The decision was made in May 2022…..
IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART I HAVE HAD TO MAKE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO GIVE UP MY BEAUTIFUL STUDIO
It was not a decision I took lightly, but It is the only way to safeguard my services to you …..BUT…….ON A POSITIVE NOTE…..You know I am not a quitter and I am certainly not ready to hang up my trainers….I am not too proud to go back to my roots. So I am pleased to say I will still be offering my classes in Balsall Common.I will be going back to where it started many many decades ago.No the room may not be as attractive or as sweet smelling as my studio. There may not be the dimmed lights I have when you are lying down……however,One thing I can guarantee is you will still get the same standard of classes I pride myself on giving to you. You will still get that care and understanding of your particular health needs.I have contacted clients face to face to tell them, as I value and appreciate all their support. However, word will get out and I don’t want you to hear via the grapevine. So now it is official…I am leaving the studio…BUT Positive Fitness is not leaving Balsall CommonIt has been an emotional week, and I’m exhausted, but I am thrilled to say that apart from a handful of clients, who cannot change their days, most clients are moving over to the new timetable Even then, I’m still trying to find alternative suggestions for those that cannot attendTHE PROPOSED NEW TIMETABLEThe new timetable will be effective from June (in the current studio) and will move to new venues in JulyMONDAY MORNINGVENUE.
